Interview with Trina Erickson about the 3rd Annual Ridges & Rivers Book Festival

VIROQUA, Wis. – The organizers of the Ridges & Rivers Book Festival have released the schedule of authors that will be in Viroqua to give presentations throughout the downtown area on April 26.

“The Ridges & Rivers Book Festival is an opportunity to celebrate reading, writing, and creativity. We are certain the event offers something for everyone,” said Trina Erickson, Director of the McIntosh Memorial Library in Viroqua and a member of the festival’s Board of Directors.

Writers tentatively speaking at the third annual festival include:

  • William Kent Krueger (the bestselling author of the Cork O’Connor series)
  • Erica Hannickel (Orchid Muse: A History of Obsession in Fifteen Flowers)
  • Brian Reisinger (Land Rich, Cash Poor: My Family’s Hope and the Untold History of the Disappearing American Farmer )
  • Amy Pease (Northwoods)
  • Maggie Ginsberg (Still True)
  • Keith Pilapil Lesmeister (the editor of Rural Stories: Writers of Color)
  • Marcy West (Protecting Paradise in the Driftless: How the Kickapoo Valley Reserve Came to Be)
  • Tamara Dean (Shelter and Storm: At Home in the Driftless)
  • Dean Robbins (Wisconsin Idols)
  • Tom Mosgaller and Michele Engh (Pulling Together: A Handbook for Community Change)
  • Sue Berg (Driftless Gold)
  • Breta Lee (Dachshund Discoveries), and Wisconsin Family Theatre’s new adaptation of the Morris & Boris books by Bernard Wiseman.

In conjunction with the Ridges & Rivers Book Festival, the Historic Temple Theatre in Viroqua is hosting an event featuring author Michael Perry at 7 p.m. on April 26. Perry is the author of many books, including Population: 485 and Forty Acres Deep. Tickets for this Historic Temple Theatre production can be purchased at The Historic Temple Theatre website.
