Viroqua announces hydrant flushing and cleaning of Eckhart Park water tower

Viroqua Utilities announced this week they will be conducting their Fall Hydrant Flushing program beginning Monday, Sept 30 and warned homeowners the work could temporarily impact water quality and pressure.

Hydrant flushing will start during the overnight hours on Monday, Sept 30 and run through Friday, Oct 4, and Monday, Oct 7 through Friday, Oct 11. Flushing will begin at 11 p.m. and end at 7 a.m. daily.

The Eckhart Park Water Tower will be drained, cleaned, and refilled between Sunday, Oct 13, and Friday, Oct 18.

This notice is to inform our customers this flushing, draining and refilling activity may temporarily cause a decrease in water pressure which may cause short-term discoloration in the water. This may also affect automatic flushing units and pressure sensitive equipment.
