Hoff promoted to Vernon County Jail Administrator position

VERNON COUNTY, Wis. – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media last week that Lieutenant Matthew Hoff has been promoted to Jail Administrator as of Feb. 16. The Sheriff’s Department held a badge-pinning and Oath of Office ceremony for Hoff on Feb. 28.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Lieutenant Hoff joined the Sheriff’s Office as one of the 13 charter correctional officers when the new Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center was constructed 20 years ago. In early 2019, then Correctional Officer Hoff was promoted to Sergeant and began his new role of Jail Administrator on Feb. 16.

Hoff takes over the position following the retirement of Captain Mike Davig who was the previous Jail Administrator and severed in the department for 23 years.
