Hillsboro Police Department receives K9 microchip scanner from Lost Dogs of Wisconsin

HILLSBORO, Wis. – In a social media post this week the Hillsboro Police Department expressed their gratitude to the organization Lost Dogs of Wisconsin for the donation of a universal microchip scanner.

“Our department recently received a donation of a new universal microchip scanner from Lost Dogs of Wisconsin. This will allow us to scan found animals for microchips, in hopes we can reunite the animal with the owner without having to go to the humane society. This is a wonderful tool for our community, and we have already put it to use. Please consider microchipping your pets. They can be implanted at any age and are a great back up to identification tags on your pets. Speak to your local veterinarian on the process.”

If you ever have a lost dog, you can find resources at https://lostdogsofwisconsin.org/. Their website has many resources for owners and you can file a report with them to help get the word out. They are a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to provide free resources for owners and increase the chances of locating their dog.
