LA CROSSE, Wis.—Join Habitat for Humanity and local environmental organizations for a documentary double feature at the Rivoli Theatre on Sunday, November 10. Habitat is proud to host screenings of Kiss the Ground and Common Ground, two groundbreaking films about climate change, food systems, and hopeful solutions. This is a free event, and all donations benefit Habitat’s ReNew the Block program.
Kiss the Ground is an inspiring film meant to catalyze a movement. The documentary shows that by regenerating the world’s soils, we can completely and rapidly stabilize Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems, and create abundant food supplies. It is narrated by Woody Harrelson.
Common Ground is the highly anticipated sequel to Kiss the Ground. It combines investigative journalism with deeply personal stories from those on the front lines of the food movement to unveil a dark web of money, power, and politics behind our broken food system. The film profiles an uplifting movement of white, black, and indigenous farmers who are using alternative models of agriculture to balance the climate, save our health, and stabilize America’s economy.
While the two films share inspiring stories from around the country, Habitat and its partners will showcase environmental efforts happening right here in the Coulee Region. Hear about ways to get involved in sustainable projects, support conservation-focused nonprofits, and draw inspiration from local leaders.
Please register for one or both shows to reserve your seat at www.habitatlacrosse.org/events. Each ticket reserved will be entered into a drawing for a VIP package that includes reserved seats in the main floor section, a concession package valued at $50, and a limited-edition Habitat for Humanity blanket (perfect for a chilly theatre!). Receive an extra entry for every extra $10 donated before November 4.
