Grammy Award winning musician Bill Miller joins Amara Rose Foundation for fentanyl awareness events

Bill Miller will join the Amara Rose Foundation to help host National Fentanyl Awareness Day Events in Westby and Onalaska on May 7 and 8

A legend in music will help the foundation raise awareness of the local fentanyl crisis and speak on his life and offer words and songs of healing

“We are extremely humbled and grateful that Mr. Miller finds our cause worthy of supporting, and we are excited for these two nights of raising awareness and of healing.” said Heidi Overson, Amara Rose President.

National Fentanyl Awareness Day is Tuesday, May 7, and the Amara Rose Foundation is gearing up for not one but two nights of educating, calling attention to the local fentanyl crisis, and offering healing to those who have lost loved ones to addiction or fentanyl poisoning. Nashville artist Bill Miller enthusiastically agreed to join the foundation for their events which will span two nights, May 7 and 8.

The foundation will show a video and speak and then hand over the night to Bill Miller. He travels all over the world, speaking on his life struggles and how he overcame addiction and tragic loss. He tells how he overcame it all, and he speaks and sings hope and healing to others.

The group will present at the Westby Area Performing Arts Center at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7. People who have lost loved ones to addiction or fentanyl poisoning can come at 6:00 p.m. and participate in Miller’s Healing Circle. Refreshments will be served.

On Wednesday, May 8, the group will present at Connect Church at 6:30. That address is 3340 South Kinney Coulee Road, Onalaska. That event will be similar to Tuesday’s event, but without the Healing Circle.

Both events are free to the public, and donations and a free-will offering will be accepted. If you’d like to help sponsor the event, please go to amararosefoundation.org.

Bill Miller is an award-winning Native American recording artist, performer, songwriter, activist, painter, and world-class native flute player. Over the entirety, Miller has produced over a dozen albums, received three GRAMMY® Awards, numerous Native American Music Awards & Association (NAMA) awards (including a “Lifetime Achievement” Award) and led Wisconsin’s La Crosse Symphony Orchestra. Overcoming the hardships felt by the global community in 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic, 2022 finds the living legend living life— stronger with a renewed focus on healing through song, art, and speaking — as he prepares to release a fresh EP.
