VIROQUA, Wis. — Fourthstream, a local nonprofit dedicated to fostering community through live music and the arts, announced it is bringing the Winding Roads Art Tour under its organizational umbrella.
Under the new partnership, the Winding Roads Art Tour will operate as an independently managed event backed by Fourthstream’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. While the tour will retain its unique identity and leadership, Fourthstream will provide additional resources for event production, fundraising, and community engagement.

Organizers say the merger aims to support sustainable growth for the tour and strengthen the broader creative economy of Viroqua and Vernon County.
“This is a natural fit,” said Christina Dollhausen, president of Fourthstream. “Winding Roads beautifully reflects this region — its creativity, its landscape, and its people. Bringing it under Fourthstream gives us space to support its growth in a thoughtful and sustainable way”.
Dollhausen added that the collaboration will help the organization continue to lead the local arts and music scene by supporting artists, local businesses, and the thriving creative community.
The Winding Roads Art Tour is an annual, self-guided journey that invites visitors to travel the scenic back roads of the Driftless Area to meet artists in their homes and dedicated studios.

Karen Innis, chair of the Winding Roads Art Tour, expressed optimism about the tour’s future with the new nonprofit backing.
“We’re excited about this next chapter,” Innis said. “Partnering with Fourthstream allows us to build on a strong foundation while gaining support for sustainability, all while staying true to the intimate, authentic experience visitors love”.
In addition to the newly acquired art tour, Fourthstream produces the annual Driftless Music Festival and the Live in Viroqua concert series.
The upcoming 2026 Fourthstream season kicks off with the Live in Viroqua series starting May 23, followed by the Winding Roads Art Tour on June 13 and 14, and the Driftless Music Festival on July 11.
