Fire destroys home in town of Wheatland

Town of Wheatland, Wis. – Wheatland Fire and EMS reports they responded to a structure fire at 3:56pm on Axlen Road, Township of Wheatland on Tuesday, May 2. The department said it responded with 14 personnel and mutual aid was requested from De Soto, Genoa, and Stoddard.

Wheatland Fire and EMS stated on their Facebook page:

One family is displaced and were able to evacuate without incident. Red Cross is assisting the family. Thanks to Vernon Electric, Thompson Dirt works for the excavator, Vernon County Sheriff’s office, Tri State Ambulance for standby, and our surrounding fire departments for assisting us. Thank you to the neighbors who reached out to assist the family.
