The McIntosh Memorial Library, in partnership with Vernon County Over 50, is excited to host an engaging Author Talk with Richard Kyte, a leading Professor of Ethics at Viterbo University. On Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 2:15 p.m., in the library lobby Kyte will discuss his latest book, “Finding Your Third Place,” which explores the importance of carving out a meaningful space in our lives for friendship and social connection.
In his book, Kyte introduces the concept of a “third place”—a welcoming and accessible place that isn’t home or work but serves as a place to meet new people, build relationships, and foster meaningful conversation. A third place is somewhere comfortable, easy to get to, and conducive to social interaction.
Richard Kyte is not only the author of “Finding Your Third Place”, but also serves as Director of the D. B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership and Endowed Professor of Ethics at Viterbo University in La Crosse. His work focuses on the importance of ethics in both personal and professional spheres, and his talk promises to offer insights into how we can all create a space that encourages friendship and dialogue.
