FEMA Individual Assistance approved for homeowners and renters affected by April 13-23 storms and hail in Vernon County

VERNON COUNTY, Wis. –– FEMA Individual Assistance has been approved for homeowners and renters that were affected by the April 13-23 storms and hail in Vernon County. This would include damage caused by a violent hail storm on April 14 that damaged nearly every home, business and vehicle in that community with hail stones as big as 3 to 4 inches.

A physical Disaster Recovery Center will be set up soon in Westby, Wisconsin, details forthcoming through Vernon County’s Emergency Management Department which can be found on Facebook. Affected individuals can also register online at www.disasterassistance.gov.

Even if individuals have reported their damages to the County or 211 they must apply with FEMA.

Deadline to apply for assistance is August 31st, 2026.
