Drug arrest follows traffic stop in Prairie du Chien, Sheriff says

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. — A Woodman man was arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop in Prairie du Chien, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Dale McCullick said the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit conducted the traffic stop Tuesday, Aug. 25. During the stop, K-9 Diego alerted deputies to the possible presence of controlled substances in the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, authorities said.

The driver, identified as Michael Dilley, 51, of Woodman, allegedly showed signs of narcotics impairment. He was arrested and taken to the Crawford County Jail.

Dilley faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle with a restricted controlled substance, second offense.

The Prairie du Chien Police Department assisted with the investigation.

The charges are allegations, and Dilley is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
