2024 Driftless Music Festival announces diverse lineup that includes Ukrainian band

VIROQUA, Wis. – Organizers for the Driftless Music Festival announced their lineup for the 2024 festival this week and it includes a wide variety of acts including the Ukrainian group Komunna Lux. The festival was started in 2012 and has become a staple of summer events for Viroqua and the region. The event is held every year but did take a couple years off due to COVID.

The festival website says Kommuna Lux brings heritage music of their beloved hometown Odesa. Klezmer, Balkan, and Urban Chanson, with a dash of Ukrainian Folk and powered by rocket fuel, Kommuna Lux impacts the crowd with a nostalgic, high-energy Big Band sound from the bygone days of speakeasies and rum runners.

The event is held in Viroqua’s Ekhart Park that organizers describe it as a free, family-friendly event that showcases a diverse lineup of great music, food, and fun. The fest will run from 12:00 Noon until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13.

Eckhart Park is located on East Decker Street a just a couple of blocks off of Main Street. It features a large lawn, a playground, Oak trees for shade and a picnic area. A beer garden and a wide variety of local food vendors will also be on the scene. Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.
