The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements on WIS 33 from the north Vernon County line to the Kickapoo River in Ontario, Vernon County.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Ontario Municipal Fire Station, 205 State Street, Ontario. The objective of this meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed improvements.
The project will consist of milling and overlaying the existing asphalt, as well as widening the paved shoulders. Additionally, beam guards at the bridges will be updated along with grading the slopes to meet current standards. Construction is scheduled for 2028.
