DE SOTO, Wis. (AP) — A 27-year-old man from De Soto was arrested Monday after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop and later being located at his residence, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle near De Soto on September 1, but the driver sped away, prompting a pursuit that was terminated due to safety concerns, officials said.
An investigation identified the suspect as Makail Richardson. Authorities from Crawford and Vernon counties later found Richardson at his home and took him into custody without incident.
Richardson was booked into the Crawford County Jail on charges including eluding law enforcement, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, resisting arrest, and a probation violation.
He remains in custody pending further proceedings. Authorities emphasized that Richardson is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
