VIROQUA, Wis. – The popular family friendly event known as “Dairy Days: Barnyard Bash” is returning to Viroqua this summer. The McIntosh Memorial Library will host the Bash on Saturday, June 20, from 10:00am-12:00pm on the lawn of the Vernon County Courthouse.
Farmers from all around the area are partnering with the library to celebrate June as Dairy Month! Event participants will get to meet live farm animals during the petting zoo. Join Youth Services Director Emilia Jury for a fun morning where youth can pet, play, and watch farmyard animals. Dairy snacks will be served.
The library is also sponsoring a June program about reptiles! In partnership with the Snake Discovery Company the program will be held inside the Viroqua High Cchool Gymnasium on Friday, June 25 from 10:00-11:30am. During the program participants will be able to see a wide variety of snakes (and possibly get the chance to pet one) as expert herpetologists (people who study snakes) share stories about numerous animals that we’ll be in the gym.
“We’re so pleased to bring Snake Discovery Company back to Viroqua so we can learn about reptiles” says Youth Services Director Emilia Jury. “It is a fun opportunity for kids to learn about the animal kingdom and get a chance to interact with these creatures in a friendly and safe way and environment.”
Both programs are open to all ages and registration is not required.
