Crawford County Sheriff’s K9 Unit detects controlled substance, driver arrested

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Wis.,—Sheriff Dale McCullick reported that on Monday, Sep. 16, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit (Diego) initiated a traffic stop on US Highway 18 in the Township of Bridgeport. The vehicle’s driver was identified as Christopher Sharlow, 42, of Beloit, Wisconsin.

K9 Diego was utilized and alerted to the presence of one or more controlled substances in the vehicle. A search was conducted, and methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were discovered. Sharlow was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Prairie du Chien Police Department and Milo’s Towing Service.
