Crawford County Sheriff arrests home intruder on burglary charges

FERRYVILLE, Wis. — On the evening of Friday, August 22, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a home intrusion in the Township of Freeman, just south of Ferryville along State Highway 35.

At approximately 9:39 p.m., deputies were dispatched after receiving a call about an individual fleeing from a private residence. Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel located and identified the suspect as Jacob Hinds, 19, of Winona, Minn.

Hinds was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Crawford County Jail, where he faces charges of burglary and criminal trespassing to a dwelling. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The investigation remains ongoing. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity and to review their home security measures.
