Crawford County Health and Human Services is dedicated to raising awareness, providing resources, and supporting those impacted by suicide in our community.
Key initiatives this month include:
- Culver’s Night. We partnered with Culver’s to host Suicide Prevention Night, where we raised funds
for this important cause. Our team was on-site distributing resources and engaging with customers,
discussing the need for suicide prevention. We are truly thankful for the generosity and overwhelming
support we received from everyone who participated. - T-shirt design contest. The winning design will be featured on suicide prevention T-shirts sold
throughout the county, and the winner will receive a free T-shirt with their design. The deadline to
submit designs is September 30. - 5K Color Run. Join us on September 21 for the 5K Color Run event. Registration starts at 7:30am.
This event aims to bring our community together to promote awareness and hope. - 988 Lifeline. The 988 suicide and crisis lifeline is available 24/7 to call, text or chat. Whether you’re
facing mental health struggles, emotional distress, alcohol or drug use concerns, or just need someone
to talk to, these caring counselors are here for you.
Promoting the 988 lifeline has been a focus throughout 2024. Keep an eye out for these signs in yards,
at local businesses, on vehicles, at parks and waysides. We want everyone to know “Your Life
Matters” and there are people here to help you through life challenges when they arise. - Social Media. We encourage everyone to join us in our efforts to shine a light on suicide prevention.
Please share pictures, stories, and resources on social media. By sharing our stories, we help others
feel less alone.
