Crash detection alert from vehicle leads to investigation in Viola

VIOLA, Wis. — Vernon County authorities are investigating a crash detection alert received Sunday evening in the Village of Viola.

Sheriff Roy Torgerson said the 911 Dispatch Center was notified at about 7 p.m. Dec. 21 of an automated crash detection in the 300 block of West Commercial Street, also known as State Highway 56. A member of the Kickapoo Valley Rescue Squad located a 2015 Ford F-150 near Banker Park and determined there were no injuries.

The incident remains under investigation, and additional details are expected sometime today.
