CHASEBURG, Wis. – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center received a report of a fire late Friday morning, November 24, at approximately
11:45 a.m., at a residence on Dahl Lane in rural Chaseburg.
Sheriff Torgerson said the Coon Valley Fire Department responded and provided additional information on the incident. They said initial information indicated that the fire was in an upper level bedroom and residents had contained the fire. Resources from Genoa-Harmony Fire & Rescue, the Shelby Fire Department, the Stoddard Bergen Fire Department, and the Westby-Christiana Fire Department were also dispatched at the same time via automatic aid.
Upon arrival, department members determined that the fire was extinguished and cancelled all automatic aid units. Coon Creek units remained on scene for about one hour checking for fire extension and completing overhaul. All units were back at the station by 1:20 p.m.
The Coon Creek Fire Department units on scene included Engine 2, Squad 1, Tender 1.
The incident remains under investigation by the Coon Valley Fire Department and the
Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
