Viroqua Harvest Parade returns Sept. 26 with puppets, costumes and community celebration

Sept. 22, 2026

VIROQUA, Wis. — Everyone is invited to participate in the Fourteenth Annual Viroqua Harvest Parade, which takes place on Saturday, September 26, starting at 3 p.m. The purpose of the parade is to celebrate community, art, and the harvest season.

The parade is a human-powered, handmade, large-scale puppet parade and is open to all ages to either be in the parade or watch it. Kids and adults who wish to be in the parade can either prepare their own harvest themed costumes at home, or come to a costume sign up at WDRT on Thursday September 24th from 2:30-5pm. Anyone who will be in the parade should come to the parade lineup at the playground of Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School on parade day, September 26th, by 2 p.m.

This year’s parade route will leave Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School via Jefferson, head straight to Main Street, north on Main, east on Court Street and then back to Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School for an ice cream social and dance party.

For more information or to get involved, please email viroquaharvest@gmail.com or contact Julie Tomaro at 734-645-5348. You can also find additional information about the parade, community puppet build, and guidelines for being in the parade at www.viroquaharvestparade.org.
