Cashton man suffers medical condition while driving

WESTBY, Wis. – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office reports an incident stemming from numerous traffic complaints on Monday, August 14th. The Vernon County 911 center received several calls regarding a blue mini van traveling westbound on Highway 14 near Saugstad Road crossing the center line, almost striking oncoming vehicles. The van then drove off of the highway and into a field. When law enforcement arrived on scene it was determined the operator, Roger Wangen, 71, of Cashton, Wis. was having a medical event.

First Responders arrived and began to treat Wangen who made a full recovery on scene. Roger was wearing his seat belt and there was no damage done to the vehicle.
