Boys Positive Puberty Series begins at McIntosh Memorial Library

Sept. 23, 2026

VIROQUA, Wis.––Due to parent requests the McIntosh Memorial Library will be hosting Positive Puberty for Boys, a confidential series designed to celebrate and help educate boys aged 10–13 and a parent/guardian on the changes a boy can expect during puberty. Led by a team of dedicated local physicians, participants will attend four consecutive sessions on Wednesday evenings beginning at 5:15 p.m. inside the library program room beginning on Sept. 23.

Dr. Michael Kalinosky is one of the instructors for the Positive Puberty for Boys series at the McIntosh Library.

Each session will include a nutritious snack, along with a discussion on what to expect during puberty and healthy steps to take to overcome any challenges that may arise. By fostering an open, informed environment, the library aims to empower both kids and parents with the knowledge and confidence to navigate this natural stage of life with ease.

“With this series of classes, we hope to give young men an introduction to physical and other changes they’ll experience in the next few years,” said Dr. Michael Kalinosky, one of the instructors of this course. “Some have a reluctance to talk about the subject, and we will reduce any stigma and take the mystery out of puberty.”

Open to ages 10-13, registration is required. A parent is welcome and encouraged to attend this program series with their child.  This program is free and open to the public.  To register visit www.mcintoshmemoriallibrary.org
