Blue River man arrested for fuel theft from Utica town shop

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is reporting they investigated the theft of diesel fuel from a fuel tank located at the Utica Township Shop on Freeman Road. The Sheriff’s Office reported the fuel was stolen over the course of a two month period in October and November.

Following their investigation the Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday, December 13th, the they arrested Rusty Jones, 61, of Blue River, Wisconsin, in connection with the fuel thefts. Jones was transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property, party to the crime of damage to property, and party to the crime of burglary.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

This case remains under investigation.
