Blackhawk Bridge across the Mississippi River at Lansing reopening today

The Iowa Department of Transportation posted on social media today that the Blackhawk Bridge across the Mississippi River at Lansing, Iowa is reopening today after being closed for about two months over structural concerns. The message stated:


We have some great news to start your weekend! The Mississippi River Bridge at Lansing will OPEN at 11:00 this morning!

The repairs are done, the inspection has been successfully completed and the bridge is ready to be safely opened to traffic!

A big thank you to those who use the bridge for your patience and support!

Also, thank you to our contractor, Kraemer North America and our water taxi/shuttle service partners!

This will also end the water/taxi shuttle service.
