Stoddard’s Terry Russell inducted into Legion Baseball Hall of Fame

STODDARD, Wis. — According to a Stoddard Legion social media post, Terry Russell, a longtime leader in local youth athletics and community service, has been inducted into the Wisconsin American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame, Class of 2026.

Russell has spent more than 25 years shaping American Legion Baseball in Stoddard, serving as the longtime manager of Post 315 and mentoring generations of players. Colleagues say his influence has extended far beyond wins and losses, emphasizing sportsmanship, character and the traditions that define Legion baseball across Wisconsin.

His commitment to public service mirrors his dedication on the diamond. Russell served on the De Soto Area School Board and has been active with the Stoddard Lions Club for more than three decades. He has also supported numerous youth and community programs, earning a reputation as a steady advocate for local families.

The Hall of Fame honor recognizes individuals whose leadership and service have made a lasting impact on the game. For Stoddard, the recognition marks a hometown celebration of Russell’s decades of volunteerism and mentorship.

Community members say Russell’s legacy will continue to inspire future players, coaches and volunteers.
