AT&T employee arrested in Crawford County for using a customers credit card to pay off debt

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Wis. – The Crawford County Sheriffs Office reports that on Friday, January 5, at approximately 11 a.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of financial fraud at AT&T in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

An investigation was conducted, and it was determined that an AT&T employee, Jessica Berntgen, 31, of Bagley, Wisconsin, utilized a customer’s debit card without their permission to make purchases and pay-off debt, which included a citation in Grant County.

Berntgen was subsequently arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on a charge of Financial Transaction Card Crimes.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Grant County Clerk of Courts and AT&T.
