VIROQUA, Wis. — McIntosh Memorial Library of Viroqua continues its ongoing partnership with the Vernon County Agricultural Society with this year’s annual Read to Win Challenge, taking place from Aug. 1 to Sept. 4, 2026.
This collaborative reading initiative encourages children and teens ages birth to 18 to dive into books during the month of August for a chance to earn a free gate entrance pass to the Vernon County Fair or a free ride pass.
This community tradition is designed to keep kids engaged in reading during the summer while also promoting the fun and excitement of the local county fair. Participants can track their reading progress and turn it in to the library to claim their prize just in time for the fair Sept. 16-20, 2026.
“This partnership with the Vernon County Agricultural Society has been such a rewarding way to celebrate literacy and community,” said Emilia Jury, Youth Services Director. “We love seeing kids connect their love of books with a special experience at the fair.”
Starting on Saturday, August 1 youth may stop by the library and pick up a Read to Win bookmark to participate in this fun program. Participants are limited to one bookmark for this program.
