73-year-old Viroqua man injured in motorcycle crash

SOLDIERS GROVE, Wis. – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office reports a a Viroqua man was hospitalized following a motorcycle crash in rural Soldiers Grove last Sunday.

Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports the accident occurred on Sunday, Sept. 29, at approximately 5:00 p.m., in rural Soldiers Grove in the town of Franklin. According to the report 73-year-old Daniel E. Williams of rural Viroqua, Wis., was operating a motorcycle north on County Road J and lost control on a curve.  The motorcycle slid across the roadway and came to rest in the grass on the apposite side of the roadway.

Williams was transported to Vernon Memorial Healthcare, in Viroqua by Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.  He was not wearing a helmet, but was wearing boots, long pants, and a jacket.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Viroqua Fire Department, Viroqua Fire Department Emergency Medical Responders, and Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
