WESTBY, Wis. – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Saturday, July 15th at 5:02 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center received a call reporting a UTV crash that occurred on private business property near County Road P, rural Westby, in the town of Christiana.
According to the Sheriff’s report an UTV driven by a William B. Lepke, 52, of rural Viroqua, Wis. overturned on a hill. Responding to the scene were the Westby First Responders, Westby Fire Department, Gundersen Tri- State Ambulance, and the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office. William reported minor injuries to his face and was transported to Vernon Memorial Healthcare, in Viroqua.
Very poor reporting and writing of this accident. Typically I feel the news whether on paper or on TV is overdramatized. In this case, in my opinion, the incident was minimized and too much information avoided.
There are privacy issues when reporting on medical conditions and in most cases we are not able to be at the scene so law enforcement is usually the only source. So what you see is what law enforcement reported.
