Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports the arrest of Jesse James Jensen, 44, of Madison, Wis. Jensen was taken into custody on Monday evening, June 22 in Dane County at the request of the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office following threatening phone calls to the Sheriff’s Office on June 21 and a related investigation that commenced late last month.
Jesse Jensen was transported to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center. He appeared in Vernon County Circuit Court on June 23, and bond was set at $10,000.00 cash.
On June 29, Vernon County District Attorney Angela Palmer-Fisher filed charges of:
1) Threat to Cause Bodily Harm to Certain Individuals Involved with a Court or Legal System
2) Disorderly Conduct
3) Unlawful Phone Use-Threatens Harm
4) Bail Jumping-Misdemeanor
A charge is merely an accusation. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
As of the time of the release of this statement, Jesse Jensen remains in custody. A Preliminary Hearing has been scheduled for July 8, at 11:00 a.m.
Jensen has ties to the Ontario, Wis. area. The incident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
