- The Sheriff’s Office investigated a traffic/driving incident on State Highway 35 near De Soto.
- Deputies responded to a residence on Coon Prairie Avenue in the City of Westby for a domestic disturbance. A male was arrested for Felony Bail Jumping after violating a no-drinking condition of his bond and Disorderly Conduct.
- An Iowa man operating a boat on the Mississippi River near Lock and Dam 8 in Genoa was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence. Wisconsin DNR assisted at the scene.
- A motorist reported a pit bull ripping plastic molding from their vehicle and puncturing a tire near County Road UU and State Highway 82 in the Town of Wheatland. The dog’s owner was contacted and cited for Animals Running at Large.

- Deputies responded near the intersection of County Road U and State Highway 131 in the Town of Kickapoo after a motorist reported seeing a youth on a dirt bike crying on the roadside. Deputies were unable to locate the youth.

- Deputies and Westby Police responded in the City of Westby for a reported battery. Investigation is ongoing.
- A female biking along Lake Road in the Village of Stoddard was bitten on the leg by a dog that entered the roadway. The dog’s owner was served a Vernon County Bite Order, and the Vernon County Health Department was notified.
- Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on North Church Street in the Village of Ontario for a domestic disturbance.
8/13
- A camper at Sidie Hollow Park reported possible drug activity. Deputies were unable to locate the male described by the caller.
8/14
- A Town of Hillsboro patrolman reported that 11 bags of trash had been dumped along Straight Road. Possible suspect names and an address were identified from the contents. A deputy contacted the residents, and it was learned that teens had been instructed to take the bags to the town dump but dumped them when it was closed. The teens agreed to retrieve and properly dispose of the trash.
- A residential burglary was reported on South State Street in the Village of La Farge. The investigation is ongoing.
- Deputies investigated a trespassing complaint at a property on State Highway 82 in the Town of Webster. The owner, who lives in Janesville, discovered a kicked-in door and observed via surveillance that two windows were open. Deputies searched the residence but found no one inside.
8/15
- Deputies and Viroqua Police officers responded to the area of Nelson Parkway in the City of Viroqua for multiple horses running loose. The animals were secured and their owners located.
- A deputy and a Viola Police officer responded to a burglar alarm at a home on State Highway 131 in the Town of Stark. A house sitter had accidentally triggered the alarm.
- Dispatch received a report that a motorist appeared to be baiting other drivers into passing by slowing down significantly and then accelerating when they attempted to pass. During a traffic stop, deputies learned the driver held only an Iowa instruction permit and was driving because the licensed passenger could not operate a manual transmission. The driver was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle by Permittee Without Authorized Licensed Adult, and another licensed driver was called to retrieve the vehicle.
