2/8 The Sheriff’s Office received a report from a homeowner at a residence on County Road SS, in the Town of Viroqua, indicating they had been working on the property and noticed their car window had been broken and $2000 had been taken from inside the vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.
2/9 A concerned citizen reported possible suspicious activity at a business on County Road P in the Town of Christiana. The citizen frequents the area and reported lights on at an unusual hour. A sheriff’s deputy arrived at the location and found a building unsecured but nothing else unusual was found. Lights were turned off and the building was secured.
2/10 A business on North Main Street in the City of Westby reported a truck had seemingly been abandoned in their lot 3 weeks ago. The plates had since been removed and it was slowly being disassembled. The owner was contacted was directed to have it removed or that it would be towed.
2/10 Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on West Turner Avenue in the Village of Viola for a domestic-abuse incident.
2/10 Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on South Main Street in the Village of Stoddard after dispatch received a 911 hang up and no answer on call back. On arrival, deputies came upon a domestic disturbance and made contact with an individual who had an active probation hold. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
2/10 A business on US Highway 14 in the Town of Viroqua reported the theft of approximately 300 gallons of gasoline over the past 13 days. Investigation is ongoing.
2/10 Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on West Wisconsin Street in the Village of Viola for a domestic disturbance.
2/11 The Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center received notice that a male was violating a no-contact order at a residence on Sugar Grove Road in the Town of Kickapoo. Sheriff’s
deputies then found the male at another residence in the Village of Readstown where he was taken into custody and then transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
2/11 A sheriff’s deputy initiated a traffic stop on West Kickapoo Street in the Village of Readstown. The driver was found to be in violation of bond conditions from Grant County and was taken into custody for Operating After Revocation (1st due to OWI/PAC), Ignition Interlock Device Tampering, and Felony Bail Jumping and transported to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
2/12 Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop on West Smith Lane in the Village of Readstown on a vehicle with expired plates. Open intoxicants as well as drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for Operating with Restricted Controlled Substance in Blood- 1st Offense and cited for Operating without Insurance, Posses Open Intoxicants, and Possession of THC. Two passengers were cited for Possess Open Intoxicants in MV.
2/14 A sheriff’s deputy initiated a traffic stop near the 200 block of North Main Street in the Village of Stoddard in which the driver received a citation for speeding 54 mph in a 30 mph zone.
